The turnaround or Annual Maintenance or Major maintenance planning is a very elaborate and time consuming activity. Normally it starts immediately after completion of the previous major Shut Down.
But due to various reasons the planning is not possible or feasible using limited man power and resources by many of the factories/ works resulting in the eleventh hour planning, ordering and execution.
This type of approach not only results in poor quality job but takes longer time thereby incurring heavy loss to the companies in the form of late start of production, loss opportunities and loss of face in this time of stiff competition.
